sledding practice
When I was in college, my friend Brack and I would occasionally take a cardboard box and go sledding down the staircase that led up to our apartments.
Good times.
This morning, I relived that memory. Only there were a few exceptions:
1. Brack was not present. 2. There was no cardboard box. 3. It was not intentional.
That's right. I fell down the stairs. But it's a hazard I tell you. Here's the thing: The steps are very narrow. If I stand on them, my toes hang off. Plus, we have really cheap carpet, and while I don't understand the physics behind it, it can get kind of slick in some spots.
So, this morning, walking down the stairs on my way to the kitchen for a glass of water, on the first step aftern the landing, I lose my footing and go sliding down the stairs. It was kinda awesome, actually. Just like sledding, without the sled. And a little bumpier. And a little more painful. But, I'm not the injury prone type, so my streak of no broken bones or sprains remains totall intact.
Plus, if this were an Olympic event, I think I would have done really well.
Oh, and if anyone is curios:
