no cohesive thread here
In the olden days of this blog, about every other post was a list of about 5 random thoughts. Of late, I've gotten rather verbose in my posting, so for old times sake:
1. A cool answered prayer: I picked up some extra hours at work. Someone quit, so now I get to add Tuesday morning to my work schedule. I'm still a few hours short of what I ought to be working, but every little bit can only help.
2. I don't want to talk about, hear about, or see basketball for the next two weeks. Seriously, as I do every year, I am avoiding sports radio, ESPN.com and whatever else might bring up the topic of college basketball. Any basketball related comments will be "deleted by host".
3. Apparently, I was wrong in one of my earlier posts. Clearly, the Baroque era was NOT one of the golden ages of music. I totally forgot about the Romantic Era. To find out why I am wrong, check out Mel's blog. However, I will say that a few things have been left out of the debate. First of all, Handel could easily take any Romantic composer in an arm wrestling match. And let's not forget that Pachabel is the father of the modern cowbell. If not for Bach, the A minor chord would have never caught on.
And if you think that I am resorting to being smart aleck because I totally couldn't hang with her in this discussion, well, you are right.
4. Speaking of cowbell, Tommy brought his from home. That means we can now have cowbell anytime we want. If it wasn't so late, I would be playing cowbell right now.
5. Todays Sudan links (which, by the way are ripped off from Passion Of The Present, which you can access above: This is a great article dealing with the lack of media coverage about Sudan and genocides in general (read me)
This one deals with some of the issues regarding the UN Resolutions. (read me)
